These are my notes on well-being advice from Lorna Byrne, world-renowned angel-seer, during the August 2025 retreat at Sanctuary in Ireland. As Lorna explained "every word is from God and the angels" (in her workshops), so my written notes noted her exact words where I could. The quoted notes below are exact words from my notebook.
Below I've included 4 'lessons' for both HELPING YOURSELF as well as HELPING OTHERS. Helping others may reduce your worry for them which can lower stress levels as well as giving you a sense of joy.
HELPING YOURSELF
LESSON 1
Denying our essence may result in suffering
Everyone of us have a spark of light from God in us. That spark is our soul.
"(Our) Soul is pure love, so much so, you (the human part) are in denial."
This denial may cause physical/mental suffering. Some people use that suffering as a way to punish themselves. So many people blame God for things... but "God didn't give you cancer, he just gave you a soul."
So how can we let go of suffering?
One way is writing a letter from your soul to yourself or a deceased love one about whatever you wish... being as truthful as possible.
If writing a letter to yourself, Lorna encouraged us to stay focussed on ourselves, rather than your relationship to others. Keep writing to yourself like you are sitting on the table opposite you. If you feel you are still hiding, write more on how you can be more yourself.
After writing the letter read the letter a loud in order to feel it more. Many people found this evoked tears as they read, which can also be a way of letting go. As a final step, Lorna encouraged us to put it in an envelope and ask someone in a far-off place to send the letter back to us whenever they feel like it... and to notice how we feel when we receive the letters.
Some advice Lorna gave one participant in reponse to their letter: "Give time for you and love you. You don't always have to be loving everyone else.... Look after you. It's not everyone else you have to be looking after."
LESSON 2
Connecting to the Earth for Well-being
Lying on your back on the grass with the palms of your hands (importantly!) faced down touching the ground. Visualise energy running from Earth, through your palms, up your arms and down your body. Feel the Earth supporting you, your body sinking into the Earth, and at the same time merging with the sky above... let yourself go deeper and do not fear.
My comment - I felt such a powerful and instant sense of relaxation that I repeated this exercise daily after this. When we did this as a group Lorna saw waves of coloured energy passing over us, a prayer angel standing behind each of us and the sails of the angel of mother Earth floating over us, before she disappeared towards the end of our meditation.
Other ways of connecting to the Earth
1. Visualisation.
2. "We connect to the Earth when we hug."
LESSON 3
Your needs are important, even if they seem relatively small.
"Your issues are as big as that of others..." ...even if it does not seem that way.
The message here was not to deny yourself the need for well-being because you think your issues are less important than someone else's.
LESSON 4
Pain is not to be avoided
"You know the emotion is love, because it hurts..."
The message here is not to avoid or shy away from pain... but to feel it and face it... this can result in an increased sense of wellness. My note: pain is different from fear or feeling irritated.
How to release pain?
"The world needs your tears".
You may find your pain is so great that it can only be released in short bursts, even if it's just for 2 minutes, Lorna said. "Don't put it all in a box." Set aside time to release that pain, whether it be through journalling, writing a letter from your soul which you then read aloud to yourself or others, stomping out anger, even shouting or screaming in nature (away from others). Lorna suggested "Ask God to clear the path if you wish to be emotional outside."
My own comment: I remember years ago when I was in the process of getting divorced, for many months I lived with other people and I found it difficult to express anger or sadness at any volume. Only when I was in a house by myself and a couple of times out in nature did I really shout it out... but I really felt I needed to do so to release it. I even encouraged a friend on a walk in a natural park who was expressing her anger about someone, to shout/scream it out - she announced afterwards that she felt so much better!
I asked Lorna if shouting annoyance at someone from a distance could affect them but I got a negative response.
HELPING OTHERS
I've included assisting others knowing that feeling we can help others can allievate us worrying about them, which in turn reduces stress, improving our own well-being.
LESSON 1
Helping with presence
Lorna is often put in places in the world (by God) where people need help. "I don't rush up to it (them)... I bump into them every so often to help them move on... (and I) let go when the time comes"
"If (the feeling of your) love is overpowering for them, do it gently."
LESSON 2
Try this if you don't know how you can help
Looking to help someone else? "Send unemployed angels to help... regardless of their religion"
My note to you - e.g. Say aloud "Unemployed angels, please help my friend Max." According to Anthony William speaking aloud speeds the response of angel (2), also being genuine and saying 'please' gets better results - angels like to be appreciated (2, 3).
LESSON 3
Smile at strangers
"Smile at people in the street - it can save someone's life"
Lorna told us the story of a person who was about to take their life... but they didn't because a stranger smiled at them... that small gesture of care, was enough to be the turning point for them.
In my own experience, I remember experiencing depression as a teenager and being so sensitive that even a smile from someone could uplift me... and a harsh word would send me crashing down. After that, I learned to speak more gently to others.
LESSON 4
Your love can help people change
"Love everyone, even if they are the greatest killer in the world. People can change."
The message here is that the power of love, can help people change.
My additional comment - For people I am angry with I use a visualisation technique - visualising divine light showering on a person at a distance and surrounding them surrounded by a protective bubble (4). I did this to someone who was really annoying me, later he told me he had had his best month in years.
Sanctuary is a special place for mankind's wellbeing for the next 300 years Lorna has been told. As she was growing up she was shown on a number of occasions this mansion where she was told she would live there in her old age. Now in her 70s, through the help of generous donations, Sanctuary has been exquisitely restored as Lorna's retreat centre set in natural surroundings with organic meals. The energy of Sanctuary and the lands around it are special too. Lorna can actually see them enclosed in a "beam of light". She describes Sanctuary as "a glimpse of heaven" and "a beacon of hope" for humanity. In the near future I hope to run cleansing retreats there. Please email me if you would like further information.
